Provincial Sport Science Program

This program is designed to provide sport science and sport medicine services that complement the technical training that is lead by their provincial team coach(es).  These services are delivered to those athletes identified as Alberta team members.  An integrated approach is taken when analyzing the coches Yearly Training Plan to ensure that appropriate services are provided to the athletes and the appropriate times throughout their training phases.  

Services can include, but are not limited to:

  • Exercise Physiology testing and monitoring 
  • Strength & Conditioning prescription
  • Mental training & strategy
  • Performance Nutrition
  • Medicial evaluations and assessments
  • Movement screens and assessments

This program focuses on sports identified in the Alberta Tareget Sports Strategy by the Alberta Sport Development Centre network (2016).  For athletes to be eligible to participate in this program, they MUST be identified by their respective PSO as a membe of their provincial team training group.
